Mumbai: The IPL 2021 matches (Phase-2), which have been postponed due to the boom of corona cases in India, are likely to be held in September. A total of 60 matches were to be played in the IPL, but only 29 matches were possible due to the corona. With this, the BCCI is planning to hold the remaining 31 matches in the UAE between September 15 and October 15. An announcement to this effect is likely to be made at a special plenary meeting of the board on the 29th of this month. The UAE has already hosted two IPL seasons (2020, 2014). The UAE hosted the first 20 matches of the 2014 league during the Lok Sabha elections in India. The 2020 season was also completed in the UAE due to Corona. With this, the BCCI is inclined to host the remaining matches of the season in the same country. With the T20 World Cup set to begin in October, the BCCI hopes to complete the IPL anyway. If this happens, it will be as if the Team India players got practice before the World Cup.
